Kathmandu → Kyirong Border → Kyirong Town (2,700m)

Early morning scenic drive from Kathmandu (151 km, 7–8 hrs) through the Trishuli River valley to the Kyirong Border. Complete Nepalese and Chinese immigration formalities, then drive into Kyirong town. Check in and rest.

Kyirong → Tingri (4,348m)

Drive deeper into the Tibetan plateau (265 km, 5–6 hrs), gaining altitude steadily. Enjoy wide-open plains, yak herds, and distant snow peaks. Important acclimatization day. Overnight in Tingri.

Tingri → Everest Base Camp (5,200m) → Shigatse (3,840m)

Drive across the world's highest plateau (443 km, 8–9 hrs). Visit Rongbuk Monastery — the world's highest monastery — then Everest Base Camp (North Face). Cross Gyatchu La Pass (5,220m) and continue via Lhatse to Shigatse. Overnight in Shigatse.

Shigatse → Gyantse → Lhasa (3,650m)

Morning visit to Tashilhunpo Monastery, seat of the Panchen Lama. Drive to Gyantse: explore the Kumbum Stupa and Phalkor Monastery. Continue crossing Karo La Pass (5,010m) and Kamba La Pass (4,749m) with stunning views of Yamdrok Tso Lake before reaching Lhasa.

Full Day Sightseeing in Lhasa

Explore the spiritual heart of Tibet. Visit Sera Monastery (famous for monk debates), the iconic Potala Palace, sacred Jokhang Temple, and the lively Barkhor Bazaar. Overnight in Lhasa.

Lhasa Sightseeing → Shigatse

Morning visit to Drepung Monastery, once the largest in the world. After lunch, drive back to Shigatse (270 km, 5–6 hrs) through scenic valleys.

Shigatse → Kyirong

After breakfast, begin the return journey toward Kyirong (491 km, 7–8 hrs). The route descends from the dry plateau into greener valleys.

Kyirong Border → Kathmandu

Early morning drive to the Kyirong Border (151 km, 7–8 hrs). Complete immigration formalities and continue back to Kathmandu through Nepal's scenic mountain roads. End of services.
